1. Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country enwrapping corridor of the Malay Peninsula and the islet of Borneo. It's known for its strands, rainforests, and blends of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and European artistic influences. The capital, Kuala Lumpur, is home to social structures, busy shopping sections similar to Bukit Bintang, and towers similar to the iconic, 451m-altitudinous Petronas Twin Towers

 

2. 'My country' first became the state anthem for Perak.

It all started when Malaysia had no public anthem at the time of Independence. In line with that, Tunku Abdul Rahman, who is also the Minister of Home Affairs, organized a civic competition to find a suitable public song for the country. After entering all 512 entries and seeing nothing that matched, he decided to use the Silver Anthem, entitled 'Allah Continues the Age of the Sultan', as the general anthem. Together with the jury, Tunku wrote new lyrics for 'My Country.

 

3. When the Federation of Malaya replaced the Malayan Union, a contest was held to design the flag. The Malaysian flag was designed by Mohamad Hamzah, a 29--time-old mastermind who won the contest in 1963.

4. The largest delve chamber in the world, the Sarawak Cave Chamber, is located in Gunung Mulu National Park on Borneo Island. This delve chamber is so vast that according to rough mathematics, it can accommodate 40 Boeing 747s without the airplanes indeed having to lap their bodies to fit in.

 

5. Malaysia is also home to a unique species of large orange striped cat, known as the Malayan Tiger. This barracuda was established in the Malay Peninsula and has also been observed in Kelantan, Pahang, and Johor. Unfortunately, this species is now threatened with extinction, and only 350 barracudas now live on the whole earth.
